For solo preparers and small tax and accounting firms

Your WISP, written in an afternoon and kept up to date all year.

Paid preparers must keep a written information security plan under the FTC Safeguards Rule, and the PTIN application (Form W-12) asks you to confirm you know it's required. WISPwise asks plain-English questions about your setup, drafts a plan based on the IRS Publication 5708 outline, and keeps it current with reminders, training sign-offs, and a vendor list.

Why WISPwise

A WISP built from how your tax practice actually works, and kept current. We're keeping it focused and affordable.

1

A plan that describes your firm

Tell us your tax software, devices, cloud storage, staff, and seasonal helpers. Your draft names your actual systems and people, not template placeholders you forget to fill in.

2

Stays current without you remembering

Get an annual review reminder plus prompts when something changes, like a new hire, a new vendor, or a new laptop. Every update is dated, so you can show your plan is maintained.

3

Training and safeguards on record

Staff sign the acknowledgment online, you get an MFA and backup checklist for your setup, and you can print a clean PDF when a client, insurer, or examiner asks.

Founding members get the best price

WISPwise is in early development. Join the waitlist to help decide what we build first and lock in founding pricing.

Founding practice price
$19/mo

Solo and firms up to 5 staff. Unlimited updates and PDF exports. Or $190/year. Founding price locked in.

Done-for-you WISP services often charge hundreds of dollars up front plus a monthly fee. A free template is a good start, but it doesn't keep itself current. Nothing is charged by joining the waitlist.

Questions

Have another question? Reply to the email you get after signing up.

Is this legal advice or a certification?

No. WISPwise helps you write and maintain your own plan using public IRS and FTC guidance. You stay responsible for the plan and for following it. For complex situations, talk to a qualified professional.

Why not just use the free IRS template?

Publication 5708 is a great starting point, and WISPwise follows it. What a template doesn't do is ask the right questions, keep the plan current, or track training and changes through the year.

Do you store my clients' data?

No. WISPwise only stores information about your practice's setup (devices, vendors, staff names). Never client tax data.
